Evaluating the Effectiveness of the Modules 1-4 Helping Adolescents Toolkit (HAT) in Improving Mental Health Among Adolescents Aged 15 - 19 years in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia

Biography:

Retno Anggraeni Puspita Sari completed my bachelors degree at ARS International University and her masters degree at Sebelas Maret University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy student in Nursing at Lincoln University College in Malaysia. I am as Vice Rector for Quality Education and Student Achievement at Medika Suherman University. I have published many papers in reputed journals and successfully obtained a grant program from the Ministry Of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

Research Interests:

In the World, the Asian Continent, mental health problems in adolescents show a high prevalence. One in seven teenagers experience mental disorders such as depression and anxiety as the most common disorders. Similarly, in Indonesia and Bekasi, screening Results for 33,799 adolescents in Bekasi showed that 26,9% experienced emotional difficulties and abnormal behavior, while 30,5% were in the borderline category. The Modules 1-4 Helping Adolescents Toolkit (HAT) guidelines recommend universal delivery of mental health promotion and prevention interventions to adolescents. To improve Mental Health, emotional regulation treatment is provided using four modules. The first module is about beginning your well - being journey, second module about understanding how you feel, third module about accepting how you feel and the fourth module about expressing how you fell. After being given modules 1-4 HAT, the results of mental health measurements using SDQ (Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire) showed that the most of the patients experienced an increase from abnormal to borderline and borderline to normal. So it can be concluded that HAT effective improving mental health among adolescents.
